The past 2 weekends ago was a big milestone for me — I set up my very first booth at the Dallas Barnyard Flea Market! It was such an exciting (and a little nerve-wracking) experience, but one I’ll never forget.
I’ve been crocheting for a while now, turning yarn into cozy creations from the comfort of my home. But this time, I got to take those pieces out into the world — to meet people face-to-face, share my work, and watch them smile as they picked up something handmade with love.
Setting up my booth was its own creative adventure! I spent hours planning how to display everything — from towel holders and plushies to cozies and bag savers — making sure each piece felt inviting and reflected the warmth and charm behind my brand. I wanted my space to feel cozy and handmade, just like the items themselves. I added a few small touches like baskets, warm colors, and simple signage to tie it all together.
Of course, there were a few first-time jitters: “Will people stop by?” “Did I bring enough change?” “Is my setup okay?” But as the day went on, those worries faded. People stopped, chatted, complimented my work, and even shared their own crochet stories. That connection — that shared love for handmade — was the best part of the whole day.
By the end of the event, I was tired, happy, and full of inspiration. I learned so much about what works, what I could tweak next time, and how much joy there is in sharing what I love in person. This first market was just the beginning, and I can’t wait to do it again — with new pieces, new ideas, and maybe even a few returning faces!
If you came by my booth — thank you! Your support, kind words, and smiles mean the world to me. 💕
Until the next market, I’ll be here with yarn in hand, stitching up more handmade happiness.
